Bone Health and Osteoporosis Support
Cancer treatments, especially those that affect hormone levels, can increase the risk of bone loss and osteoporosis. Women treated for breast or gynecologic cancers may experience changes in bone density that can lead to fractures or chronic pain over time. Maintaining strong bones is an important part of long-term health and survivorship care.
Our program offers support and services to help you protect and improve your bone health.
These include:
-
Bone density screening
-
Monitoring bone strength through routine scans to help detect early signs of bone loss and guide next steps in your care.
-
-
Medical evaluation and treatment
-
Assessment by a provider who can recommend lifestyle changes, supplements like calcium and vitamin D, and prescribe medications when needed to strengthen bones and prevent fractures.
-
-
Nutrition and exercise guidance
-
Information and support to help you choose bone-friendly foods and safe physical activities, including weight-bearing and resistance exercises that help maintain bone strength.
-
-
Fall prevention strategies
-
Tips and tools to improve balance and coordination, reduce the risk of falls, and create a safer home environment.
-
Caring for your bones is a vital part of staying active, independent, and healthy after cancer. Our team is here to help you take simple, effective steps to support lifelong bone health.
