Neurology Support for Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Survivors
Some cancer treatments can affect the nervous system, leading to symptoms that may last beyond the end of treatment. One of the most common neurological side effects is peripheral neuropathy, which is nerve damage that can cause discomfort, numbness, or weakness, most often in the hands and feet.
Fem Survivorship offers access to neurology support to help identify, monitor, and manage these symptoms so that you can stay active, independent, and comfortable in your daily life.
Services include:
-
Neurologic evaluation and symptom assessment
A comprehensive review of nerve-related symptoms and how they may be connected to past or ongoing cancer treatments.
-
Diagnosis and monitoring of peripheral neuropathy
Identification of neuropathy symptoms such as tingling, numbness, burning sensations, or balance issues. Monitoring is available to track progression or improvement over time.
-
Treatment and symptom management
Personalized plans that may include medications, topical treatments, physical therapy, or referrals to specialized pain management providers to help reduce discomfort and improve daily function.
-
Education and safety strategies
Guidance on managing symptoms at home, including fall prevention tips, support with footwear selection, and techniques to protect areas with reduced sensation.
Healthy nutrition and weight management can support healing, reduce the risk of recurrence, and improve your quality of life. Fem Survivorship is here to help you feel nourished, supported, and empowered after cancer.
