Menopausal Symptom Management
Breast and gynecologic cancer treatments can often lead to early or sudden menopause. These changes can bring uncomfortable symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and urinary discomfort. Fem Survivorship is here to support you with safe, effective, and personalized strategies for managing these symptoms and improving your daily quality of life.
-
Hot Flashes and Night Sweats
Many survivors experience hot flashes and night sweats as a result of chemotherapy, surgery, or hormone-blocking therapy. These symptoms can disrupt sleep, impact mood, and affect daily comfort. We offer strategies to reduce frequency and intensity. This may include medications, cooling techniques, sleep support, and mindfulness-based approaches.
-
Vaginal Dryness and Discomfort
Treatment-induced menopause often causes thinning of the vaginal tissue, dryness, or irritation. These symptoms can lead to discomfort during everyday activities, intimacy, or pelvic exams. We help you explore safe, evidence-based options such as vaginal moisturizers, lubricants, and, when appropriate, non-hormonal or low-dose vaginal therapies.
-
Urinary Symptoms
Changes in estrogen levels can affect the bladder and urinary tract, leading to increased frequency, urgency, or discomfort. Some survivors may also experience urinary tract infections or leakage. We offer guidance on bladder health, pelvic floor physical therapy, and treatment options to restore comfort and function.
-
Sexual Health and Intimacy
Menopausal changes can impact sexual desire and pleasure. You may experience pain during intimacy, reduced libido, or emotional shifts around body image and closeness. Our team provides sensitive, respectful support so you can feel empowered and informed.
-
Personalized, Safe Care
We understand that hormone replacement therapy may not be safe or appropriate for everyone, especially for hormone-sensitive cancers. Our program prioritizes your safety and comfort, working with you to find individualized solutions that align with your health history, preferences, and goals.
Menopausal symptoms after cancer treatment are common, but you don’t have to live with them in silence. Fem Survivorship is here to listen, support, and guide you through this transition with care and compassion.
